The Multiple Sclerosis Society of South Australia and Northern Territory has appointed experienced social sector leader Shaun Kennedy as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Kennedy, who commenced in the role on the 9th of December, brings extensive executive experience across private enterprise, government and not-for-profit sectors, with expertise in NDIS service delivery and social advocacy.
His appointment comes at a significant time for the organisation, which supports nearly 3,000 clients living with MS through its comprehensive care services, while also operating Multiple Solutions – a specialist disability employment service that helps thousands of South Australians with injury, illness or disability find meaningful work each year.
“Shaun’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for our organisation as we expand our impact through both our MS support services and Multiple Solutions employment programs,” said MS Society Board Chair Kerry Sanders.
“His proven track record in organisational leadership and deep understanding of the disability sector positions him perfectly to lead our dedicated teams and enhance our service delivery across both areas.”
Mr Kennedy has held executive and board positions across multiple sectors, developing expertise in strategic planning, financial management and building positive organisational cultures. His experience includes working with government on social reforms and leading multi-site operations across Australia and internationally.
“I’m honoured to join an organisation with such a strong history of supporting people living with MS and helping South Australians access meaningful employment opportunities,” Mr Kennedy said. “The MS Society’s commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care and employment services aligns perfectly with my vision for inclusive and accessible support services.”
“I look forward to working with our dedicated team to continue enhancing our services and ensuring every person can access the support they need to live well and achieve their goals.”
The MS Society SA & NT supports clients through services including nursing support, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, counselling and wellbeing programs. The organisation recently opened its new purpose-built Wellness Centre, designed in consultation with clients to provide enhanced care and support services.
