$60,000 Super Early Bird winner ‘buzzing’ about win

The winner of the Game Changer Lottery’s (GCL) $60,000 Super Early Bird prize, Owen Lampe, is a long-time supporter of the MS Society SA & NT.

“As a kid I used to do the MS Readathon,” Owen says.

“I think it’s a great way to get the kids to sit down and read while raising money for the MS Society.”

A beekeeper by trade, Owen says he personally knows someone in the industry who lives with multiple sclerosis, so understands the value of his support.

It’s what’s led him to be a regular buyer of MS Game Changer Lottery tickets, too.

“It’s another way to support the MS Society,” he says.

It was Owen’s Gold VIP membership which automatically qualified him for the Super Early Bird prize draw, which he won earlier this month.

But it almost didn’t happen.

“The card I’d previously used to buy tickets had expired and I hadn’t updated my details,” he says.

“I got the final reminder to update my details to finalise the transaction and luckily I did.”

He says receiving the call from CEO Jannine Jackson was surreal.

“I didn’t know whether to believe it,” Owen says.

“I got the call and asked, ‘is this for real?’.

“I still didn’t believe it until the money was in my account.

“I was chuffed about it (winning), it’s very cool.

The father of three who owns 3 Boys Honey says he plans to put the prize money towards buying a property to expand his business.

A bonus of winning the Super Early Bird prize? He’s still in the draw to win both the $150,000 Early Bird and the $1 million grand prize.

“That would be unreal,” Owen says.

Every ticket bought in the MS Game Changer Lottery helps us continue to provide essential support and services to people living with MS in South Australia and the Northern Territory, empowering them to live well.
